A Swan Song of a Harvest

Swoon worthy produce

If "pictures say 1000 words..."  here are 3000 words of pride in accomplishment and 1000 words of How to Grow Beans at Swan Farm.

Top Left: LeeAnn McMillen with some of the beautifully colored bush beans she planted at Swan (there may be a few poles in there as well)

Above:  Hilary Newell  serves up trays full of nutrition you can savor instead of eating a pill out of a bottle. Just basil and parsley chopped into your meal could provide the daily need for Vitamin K. Here she is showcasing the herbs grown at Swan: dill, sage, parsley, basil, thyme, and tarragon.

Below:  Swan Co-Garden Manager, Susanne Eggleson, shows off anew crop for them this year: round zucchini. They planted them after hearing Food Bank customers wanted smaller squash.

Below: Bean trellis built from dumpster diving for rims at the Recyclery — lots of room for those loooooong Fortex beans! Does that make it a RE-Recyclery?
