Happy Gardeners Grow Happy Food

Dear BG Team -
Tomorrow is forecasted to be sunny with temps in the 60s-70s. We’ll have a rolling start to the work party between 9 and 10 am.

This Week’s Harvests …
Monday 7/8 evening harvest for the Brinnon Food Bank was supported by Beth, Diane, Lys, Jordan and Amber. They harvested beets, broccoli collards, baby carrots with greens, chard, kale, lettuce, onions, snap peas, radishes, stir fry mix and herb bundles for a total of 47.5 pounds.

Wednesday 7/10 morning harvest for the Port Townsend Food Bank was supported by
Beth, Diane, Kathy C, Lys and Amber. They harvested beets, baby carrots with greens, kale, onions, snap peas, snow peas, chives and herb bundles for a total of 34.5 pounds.

Thanks to July 5th Work Party Volunteers!
Mike trimmed grapes… they definitely needed some attention. Mehdi mulched between the fences… it looks fantastic. Beth weeded out bindweed in Bed 9N… a tedious job. Mark also worked to eradicate bindweed and hand watered the garden… it was a hot day! Denny finished installing the trellises for the cucurbits… hippy chic! Denny, Lys and Amber finished installing the irrigation… gotta keep those plants happy and watered.
