Raspberry Rescue

Chicken Little: "Oh no! It's raining on our raspberries! What to do. Whatever to do?

Get busy, you dumb cluck!

On Tuesday, when rain fell (thankfully) on Jefferson County, it ... complicated ... things. Wet raspberries quickly turn into moldy raspberries. At the  Quimper Grange FBG garden, garden manager  Barbara Tusting   quickly gathered six pounds of luscious, market-ready fruit and (necessity being the mother of invention) placed it tilted south in a hoop house, then directed a fan across the harvest. The result? A load of raspberries headed out to food banks tomorrow!

It's just a snapshot of the creative thinking and devotion to building community resilience that happens every day among the Food Bank Growers. Why not join the team and become part of the solution?
